O’Naturel-Paris, the city’s first nude restaurant, opened its doors November 2017 among high octane customers bold enough to leave their clothes at the door.

Siblings, Mike, and Stephanie Saada’s decided to capitalize on the city’s growing market for nude tourism by opening the first naked restaurant.

Located in the city’s 12th arrondissement, the restaurant seats approximately forty guests and served a variety of entrees to satisfy most palates.

Here is how it worked.

Customers remove their clothes at the door. The clothes were placed in the cloakroom and patrons were supplied slippers to cover their feet, in lieu, women were given the opportunity to continue wearing their heels if they chose to do so.

For privacy concerns cell phones were not allowed in the dining area.

In addition, each person received a chair covering and each station was sanitized and cleaned before the next guest arrived.

And exactly how many people would be comfortable dining with strangers in the nude?

Despite receiving excellent reviews from fans who commented on everything from customer service to the quality of food, O’Naturel closed its doors January 9, 2019 due to financial reasons.

It is understandable how one would consider the experience of dining naked as unsanitary.

Hygiene and proper sanitation of chair coverings would be a huge factor for many.

It is unclear what employees do with the chair coverings. Do they dispose them? Or do they wash and reuse them?

What happens when someone wants to dine in who does not smell so nice. Or what if someone expels gas. Without underwear or clothes as a barrier, the smell would be amplified.

In order for something like this to work, the restaurant would be required to sell individual chair coverings to each client. If the customer returns, they would be responsible for bringing their own chair covers or purchasing a new one.

Meanwhile, in a different sector of nude attractions, Bois de Vincennes Park in Paris designated a secluded area for nudist exhibitionists.

The nude zone is approximately 7,300 square meters and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The Naturist Association in Paris has existed since 1953 and has seen a spike in membership within the last few years. The organization is open to everyone and presents sponsored activities practiced in total nudity. Activities which include, nature walks, bowling, and swimming.

It’s important for people to try something different. Sometimes breaking away from the routine of daily life can be a stress reliever.

The attractiveness of nude tourism can be traced to individuals seeking to deviate from societal norms, replacing stress-and-worry with a care-free moment.

Does this sound like something you would consider?
